We were only there overnight to get the ferry next morning. The bed was the most comfortable I had had during a week of travelling about - bliss!
Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Good restaurant.
Wi-fi rarely worked over 5 days. Expensive for level of faciliities.
Well located, close to town centre and shopping area. Comfortable room with pleasant view over to the castle.
Cramped bathroom. Shower didn't work in one of the rooms. The cafe's "afternoon tea" was very limited - tea and biscuits or waffle with ice- cream (without the ice-cream as the machine was broken). No scones, muffins, tea cakes or fresh cream cakes. When asked whast was meant by afternoon tea, the waiter said "well, you can get a cup of tea in the afternoon".
The room was clean and quite well maintained. The food in the BoatShed Restaurant was excellent on both evenings, the breakfast was very good and plentiful. I will be returning to this Hotel in the near future and would recommend to others.
I would have liked a lower cost room rate, I felt it was a little pricey compared to others.
Always a friendly welcome and very comfortable bed which is a must for a hotel when away on business. The breakfast here is great - must be with Stornoway black pudding!
Only thing was radiator heat gets bit lost at window but noticed a portable heater in room which did the job.
Stayed on business and the staff could not have been more helpfull. the food was excellent, first class. Thanks to all and i would stay again.
Really friendly staff, great views, nicely refurbished rooms.
The staff are very friendly. Like the majority of the rest of the Western Isles people, the staff are easy going, without going over the top. The food was excellent (one of the best I believe)!! The room was clean and nicely old fashioned, with the modern things I needed. The views of the harbour and castle were great to wake up to! I would definitely stay there again.
The Helpfull staff and the quality room.
Lovely Room, great view, excellent breakfast.
My wife and I loved the hotel, we just found some of the staff a little cold and business like rather than warm and friendly which is what we expect when staying away. Saying that, everyone can have a bad day so we would stay again.
Room ,staff and facilities good
1St class comfortable and well presented accomodation, genuinely curteous an helpful staff, great location in the town.
An authentic atmosphere with wonderful food at an amazing price.
My room was very cold on arrival and in the morning...
Have stayed before and ideal for my needs
There was some sort of motorised equipment outside my bedroom window which was horrendously noisy all through the night- airconditioning unit perhaps? There was a continuous loud hum which became louder and louder, waking me up on several occasions before going back to the hum. The worst nights sleep in a long time. avoid room 10 if you can
